My husband is a LIGHTs kind of guy. When we were touring homes to decide what we wanted we explored important things to us.
For example, walking into a pantry you need light. Going into closets you expect light to see. We also thought in our kitchen at night we don't need to turn on ALL the lights, but instead just a few fun lights. So follow the link to see what we came up with.
When you are building there isn't really a set "do this" or "want to do that". You are truly building and need to have ideas of your own. In previous posts you saw I brought friends, interior designers and again just TOURED other homes for ideas. Please, please remember to do this. One thing we wish we would have thought out a little more was when we designed the kitchen to also design where everything would be. I mean we thought of some cute things and added things we wanted. But we placed plates on this plate cabinet and it is really far from where we need the plates to be. I will get to it later. But walk your rooms and really see yourself in the space.
