Designing as we go...

Designs, designs, designs

The largest difference between building your home is YOU are the deciding factor in everything. Where do you want the electrical outlets, the light switches, the doors to open... We did a walk through and I just looked at them like, "WHAT, I don't know?" So I do not have too many suggestions when it comes to that. I just walked through the house and opened a door and flipped the imaginary switch to say I want one here. Or I pictured where I would put our imaginary furniture to say I want a switch here. But cabinets... I can offer a few suggestions.
  1. MAKE SURE YOUR CEILINGS ARE CORRECT IN THE DRAWINGS.
  2. If you have a picture you are going off of, have it in front of you. It's nice to know what you are working with.
  3. You will be deciding how far off the ceiling a cabinet is. Where the pot filler will be. Where you want the shower heads.
  4. What type of cabinets do you want- for example I did a knife pullout and spice pullout.

***This is a picture of our kitchen. I noticed the ceiling was off and they didn't re-draw it. When they built the vent over the cooktop it was TOO LOW. They added the pot filler and it hits the vent hood. Luckily, this will all be fixed, but it shouldn't have occurred and it's my warning to you.

***Since they are redoing it anyway, why not change it a little. Stay Tuned to how much my re-draw costs me.
